The pages of my sketchbooks are like trails of breadcrumbs that lead me back along the path of my thoughts and ideas, allowing me to notice, remember and make new connections. These books are essential to my work as an artist, recording new developments as I push forward while enabling me to step back and re-trace my steps, so I can make sturdier connections between my thoughts as well as tying them into whatever new things I've discovered out in the world since I first put them down.
As a visual artist I like nothing more than getting up to my elbows in paint or little plastic toys, or wading in at the deep end in pursuit of an idea. When I am not teaching others in a similar vein, you can find me researching, writing and noodling around in my studio, seeing where my latest lines of inquiry lead me.
