Facial Expressions Joint Exhibition with Don Boutros (2025)

​Here I am at the opening reception with Don Boutros, whose work is in the background, and Sharon Kessel – both my former teachers at University of Toronto Schools (art and English respectively), and both very dear to me.
These three pieces I usually present as a triptych. They are 30" x 20" each, printed onto aluminum. The two image pieces are printed on brushed aluminum (silver colour) which create dynamic light effects as your viewing angle changes. The handwritten piece has been printed onto a white-coated (like an industrial powder coat).
Left to right: "On Fire in Flux" is a photo-digital collage that has a cross-hatched effect that interweaves multiple images. "Smoke and Rain" is a poem I wrote for the Burnt Offerings project, shown in my own brush and ink handwriting. There is an audio component as well; click on the poem to hear the recording on SoundCloud. And "Conflagration" at the end.
The six pieces below (shown as cropped thumbnails, please tap or click on an image below to see it properly) are all 16" x 12", printed onto aluminum with a floating mount. The fourth and sixth pieces are printed on a white-coated aluminum, whereas the others are on natural brushed (silver colour) aluminum. They are all photo-digital collages.
