Contemporary Mixed Media Explorations
Incorporating Textiles, Textile Image Transfers & More
Contemporary Mixed Media (#2) embraces and combines materials, forms, processes and ingredients in ways that open up your creative and expressive possibilities.
Working this way enables you to build a rich visual language, layer meaning and association, and explore a wide range of (and also very specific) interests. In this 6-week session we will look at ways to incorporate textiles and textile-based processes such as image transfers on fabric and stitching (no sewing experience required), and combine them with other media. To create an enriched learning experience, this course will include:
You can bring a mixed media project you already have, or are planning, to work on, but you can also just explore by trying out the various processes etc, and I can also provide a couple of project suggestions if you would like a specific focus for your exploration and learning. Each class will typically run 2.5 hours, with a short break roughly in the middle. Level: Intermediate art-making experience, and up. |
