This past weekend was Culture Days in Toronto, in the whole province I think. There was a lot going on at Neilson Park Creative Centre, in all the studios, the gallery and outside in the open: storytelling, kids' activities, yoga, outdoor drawing... and Myseum Toronto, who set up under tents to collect people's stories with and without associated objects which they documented. The "Myseum" is a fantastic project, worth finding out more about which you can do by clicking here to go to their website. I was one of their "experts" | (their term not mine!) facilitating the sharing and recording of the stories, with the able assistance of others who recorded everything on iPads. We couldn't have had a more perfect day for it and in addition to all the interesting conversations with lovely people, I was thrilled because they had a table where you could make your own buttons. I have a thing for buttons and have wanted one of those button making presses since I was about nine years old! I call the button above 'Heart is Where the Home Is'. |
