Sometimes I think my favourites depend on my mood...as far as colours/colour is concerned I realize I always like mixed or secondary versus pure colours. I used to love them but now find I am attracted to subtler shades of blue, violet, roseate pinks, yellowed greens. I have a visceral and gut reaction to colour. It's almost a physical sensation.

Thanks for sharing your faves Peggy-Ann and Ashley! I can relate to what you say Lauretta, especially the visceral response to colour. While on any given day I may have more or less interest in certain colours, there are ones I return to again and again in my work: red (especially skewing orange), blue-violet (aka electric blue), blue-green, yellow green (especially modified but still somewhat acid versions) and after years of avoiding it, pink – sometimes strawberry ice cream style, but often much more in-your-face!

Kim-Lee KhoAs a visual artist I like nothing more than getting up to my elbows in paint or little plastic toys, or wading in at the deep end in pursuit of an idea. When I am not teaching others in a similar vein, you can find me researching, writing and noodling around in my studio, seeing where my latest lines of inquiry lead me. Archives
